Project Report #26 - Chronicles of Car-Kee-Ah

Hey people~! Sorry for long, long, LONG time of no updates. There has been just so much to do these past few months. Everything I’m involved in has been picking up pace, my work, my ministry, my relationships and etc. But nevertheless, God has been really faithful to provide all I need, it’s not been easy physically but I’ve survived and succeeded to overcome all obstacles to be where I am today.

Earlier this year my car met a minor accident, the catch is I WASN”T IN THE CAR~! Haha~! So for those of you who are saying “Sudah agak, kereta pantas pasti accident punya…” hear me out first before you judge me okay? It was 2 days before New Year’s, 30th of December 2007, early in the Sunday morning at about 7.20am, my can slid down my car park ramp and crash through my gate, collapsing the front gate and damaging the back portion of my car all together.

I was shocked when I came down and saw my car the opposite side of the road from my house when I came down. My front gate was on the floor, and my car’s back wheels were in the longkang. Upon further investigation, I found out that my handbrake cables were snapped, the previous owner had never changed them and the cable seal had already ruptured, hence causing the cables to rust and wear out. Without the handbrakes working, my car just slid down crashing through my gate…

That morning I was really upset when I saw the damages inflicted on my gate and on the car, it was heartbreaking because you all know how much I treasure the things I have. That Sunday morning, I was also on for worship and my mother encouraged me saying “Don’t let thing be a hindrance in giving your best to serve God today…” I tell you, my mom is one strong woman~! Because of what she said, and I believe it was from the Holy Spirit, I was determined to have a great Sunday in church no matter what, AND I DID~!

To cut the long story short, my repairs amounted to almost RM1800 for the car and RM1500 for the gate. Although I’ve been working for a year, I don’t have that kinda money in my savings. But praise God, my parents were generous enough to loan me the money to cover all my repairs. Although I know deep in their hearts, they’re willing to just give the money to me, but I’ve made a choice to take the responsibility in covering all cost because it is my car. So now every month, I’m setting aside some money to pay them back. Is it easier said than done? Obviously, but this teaches me to be responsible and take ownership of what belongs to me..

I went to Kuching with a few people from Harvest Generation last month before Chinese New Year, had a great time with Ps Cheli and his students. We helped setup a few things for him to be implement for his after school programs. I was really honored to be asked to do a Compute Demerit System for them, but in the end things didn’t work out. Nevertheless, I had a great time sharing my heart out together with me teammates in a career talk in Ps Cheli’s school, the students were really inspired. I believe, like what Ps Ryan always says, it is the anointing that God has given to us that draws the people to us, it not because of our own works.

The Kuching trip was really special not just because of the people and the FOOD, but also because we had a non-believer who came along with us and caught something from all of us. This friend of ours is inches away from accepting Jesus into his heart, but due to some family issues that he is very afraid of, he has not made that step. I believe the words that have been spoken, the love we have shown him, and the little Bible verses we have shared with him has sown seeds of faith into his heart. We just have to keep pressing-in in our prayers that he will one day accept the Lord personally. By the way, he does attends our church quite regularly, so praise God for that because it is a miracle in itself to see him so hungry for God’s word even though he isn’t a believer yet.

Let’s pause for a moment, to those of you who cannot tahan reading a long entry, you can stop here and continue another time because this entry is gonna be really REALLY long as I have many things to share. What to do? So long never make and entry already, HAHA~!

PROJECT REPORT~! The past one year with my car has been indescribable. I really enjoy the ride but there were also a lot of financial responsibilities to bear to have such a unique car. There were months where I had to wait for parts to come in and leave my car in the workshop for weeks, but in the end it’s all worth it (because it’s my passion mah). Below are some photos I’ve taken not too long ago on the recent modifications that has been made to the car the past 8 months, just sit back and enjoy the pics…

This first few pics are taken in my office basement parking. The angles I chose to take all the pics looks like those you see on cars-for-sale columns, but this is NOT for sale okay?! Haha~! This is the right front angle..

Here goes the left front angle, notice my car colour is different under different lighting conditions.

This is the back left angle..

Now the right back angle…

Notice there has been a few changes to the bodykit. This is the new rear-side skirting..

Now the new spoiler I had made from fibre… it’s a Subaru Impreza designed spoiler… I think I’m the only one who fitted to this car so far in KL-Subang area.. Compare it with the previous GT Wing I had... looks better right? By the way, my GT Wing was also damaged in the accident mentioned earlier...

The new front bumper diffuser, I had this installed about a month ago but some Mat Rempit broke off one side for fun when I was waiting at a traffic light. I knew he did it on purpose because he stepped on it and smiled at me some more. AND NO, I didn’t do anything to that stupid fella prior or after he broke my diffuser off, good way to practice forgiveness towards the unforgivable. Haha~!

Here’s the front left angle with the lights on… bright eh?

Here’s the front right angle with the lights on… still very bright eh?

Here’s the dead on front angle with my headlights and spotlights on… super bright eh?

The back angle with my brake lightings on…

The following pics from here on are taken in a different environment under the sun, you will notice again the colour of my car is very much different under different lighting conditions. These paints are known as diamond paint, and my car colour is Diamond Bronze…

Here’s the front left angle of the car…

The side portrait…

The back portrait…

And now the engine bay area.. notice the difference before and after… I had the engine parts cleaned and re-sprayed…

Closer view… you can see the intercooler stainless steel piping on the left of the pic with the blow-off valve welded on it…

Left side of the engine bay… notice the giant K&N open pod air-filter with the blue cold air-intake pipe on the far bottom right of the picture.

The right side of the engine bay…

Lower front right angle of the car… told you I’m a fanatic about taking pictures from different angles… things are seen differently when the angles are changed…

Lower front left angle of the car…

Lower back right angle of the car…

And finally, the lower back left angle of the car…

Hope you all have enjoyed the small pictorial show of the progress of this car project. I will be starting off the signing off session soon, I hope. It is rather difficult to meet up with all of you, but I will try my best to make some necessary arrangements to meet you all maybe in different groups or one at a time… there will be a photo taking session while you guys and gals sign the boot board, so be ready ya?

I would like to personally congratulate 2 couples who have recently gotten married, one is of course the infamous Jay Loh and Andy Yeoh, which I had a great privilege to attend their wedding ceremony. Jay has been a great inspiration to me the past couple of years because of her heart that never ceases to give God her best~! She is a very gifted and anointed worship leader and I’ve always enjoyed serving along with her when I was with Actstream. Keep it up, Jay~! There will be many people placed under you that will be inspired greatly through your life of service to God~!

Another couple that I would like to congratulate is none other than the very poetic, Ps Alex and Wern Lu~! Ps Alex is one guy that would never allow you to feel bored or keep quite when you’re with him. His witty statements and flowery languages just really wows you, and sometimes causes you to think through what he said. He gift in writing songs has truly been inspirational. Plus his anointing to lead worship in church is really unique. I’ve really enjoyed serving with him back in Actstream. Now that he’s married (finally), I believe more songs of passion, love, and maybe I tinny-winny bit of misery will be birth forth in the coming future. All the best Ps Alex~! I believe your journey in marriage with the one you love will be stupendous~! NOTE: Ps Alex is the culprit in the invention of the word INVITATIONALISM…

That’s all I have for you guys today, hope you’ve enjoyed reading this entry as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it. Forgive me if I don’t get to make an entry anytime soon due to many commitments, but I will try my best to do so. Oh by the way, I am very, VERY happy that DAP’s Hannah Yeoh won this tims round for Subang Jaya. I didn’t get to vote because I registered in January and the EC people said I was a bit too late to be allocated to the voting polls… I was like “What the…? What nonsense?!”. Why? Because they can do a background checking before issuing me my passport in 3 days but they need over 3 months to register me as a voter… nonsense right?

Okay okay, politics aside. I’m supposed to close this entry now and get ready to go for cell group. Alright people, have a great new week ahead~! Champion everything you put your hands on~! God Bless~!
