Project Report #10 - The Curse of the Where's-My-Engine

Hey there people~! It’s another beautiful Thursday morning, the sun’s cover by a thick layer of clouds but it will not devalue my day~! I’ve just agreed to take up another car project for a friend, who is also a sponsor of this car project. This is gonna be exciting because as I’ve gone through different experiences building my dream car, I can now give some guidelines to people who want to do up their project car too.

This project has been through a lot that has pushed me to my limits. I shall NOT sugarcoat this project by saying that it’s easy to handle, there were many times I was considering to give it up due to different major obstacles that came along way. But I know that before every great thing lies great trials as well, so I will NOT give up until this project is completed~! You sponsors have been a great motivation and encouragement to me, without you guys n gals, I would have given up this project a long time ago…

About the updates on the project, I still have yet to find an affordable engine. So by next Monday if I still can’t find one then I shall resort to buying from the initial supplier who is selling it at a higher price. No worries people, I believe God will provide either way. I will not fix my eyes on the problem, although I will still work very hard to resolve it, but I will put my trust in God to make a way for me no matter what. You will all see this car on the road someday, this is my promise~! Thank you sponsors for being so encouraging and supportive of me~!

LUCK, is it fact or fiction? Many people put their hopes and dreams in a fictional force known as luck. The true meaning of luck is something that cannot be predicted, that thatcannot be calculated, cannot be quantified, but it just happens by chance. People gamble all their money away putting their faith in luck, something that does not make sense and totally defies the laws of cause and effect.

Here’s a food for thought, if luck does exist, can my 1 + 1 equation equals to anything else other than 2? Even if I do the same equation over and over and over again, can it by ‘LUCK’ change to any other answer than 2? No right? Something about lucky dice and cards, if you remember from our high school math, it all just depends on probability. It CAN be quantified, I CAN determine how many wins you will have over a period. Maybe you can argue that you’ve won in gambling before and what sort, but that is basically all within the equation as well. In the long run you will lose, if casinos are meant for everyone to win, they wouldn’t be standing and expanding like mad today.

Genting Enterprise just signed a contract to build one of the biggest casinos in Singapore. Do you think they're losing money? So stop gambling in hopes that you’ll hit the jackpot. Out of thousands of people who gambled and won, they are just part of the equation involving the bigger group that has lost. So in conclusion, if you place your hopes on luck, which is actually just probability, you're putting your hopes on an equation that only the minority will gain something from it. “The HOUSE always wins…”

Why am I talking about this? Well, it’s because I want you to know that you actually have an opportunity to build your life on something that will last through all of time, an assurance that even when you die, you still have the hope to live again in heaven. I want you all to realize that you all have this chance to build something that NOT only the minority can gain so much from it. We all have this chance to build our lives on someone that gave His own life so that we may be delivered from the eternal condemnation of hell, this person is Jesus Christ.

I have experienced His blessings so many times that it would take days for me to tell you all He has done for me. Does this mean that I’ve never experienced any hardships or failures? Of course NOT~! I’ve been through my fair share of pain… physically, mentally and emotionally. Life has brought me to face many different kinds of difficulties in almost every area of my life. The thing about knowing Jesus is NOT about getting all your problems solved immediately, but to know that there’s always hope. Knowing Jesus is about knowing PEACE despite anything that happens.

My situations didn't become better immediately after I came to know Jesus, but my heart and attitude changed because I knew and I was assured that God is in control over everything. Slowly but surely, as my heart was at peace, my character began to change for the better. I started looking at things differently, I started looking at difficulties with hope. A man once said, “The heart of the problem is the problem of the heart…”

With my character built, my attitude improved and my heart at peace, then only my situation began to change because I worked at it knowing that it is not only because of my strength that will deliver me, but it is me working alongside God which will bring me out of my difficult situations. Many of us face different situations, sometimes we can’t find anyway out, we are place in a position where we can’t look left nor right but to only look up. Those are the times when we realize that we ain’t that powerful and infinite after all, we all still need God in us.

Search deep inside yourself and you will realize that each of us has a desire to know who God is. It is desire that God Himself put in us to draw us closer to Him. We can either choose to respond to Him or to deny Him, it’s our choice because He will never force you to choose Him. Come ask me personally and I will tell you the many different areas of my life that God has came through for me. My ministries, my church, my family, my friends, my educational achievements, my current job, my future prospects and etc… God had something to do with all of that I’ve mentioned…

Hope this will inspire you to put your hopes, your dreams, your trust, your life and your everything in Him alone because He knows what’s best for you and will never give you any less…

Nature is degrading, the world is in need of a heroine~! Who shall save the trees?! I know~! This person is as skinny as stick, as blur as sotong but has a really big heart for people. She’s not only an exceptional keyboardist, but she’s is one great musician. Why do I say she’s great? It’s not because of her skills, but because she has great attitude and character to sustain greatness. Ladies and gentlemen, trees of all ages, may I present to you my good friend and sister in Christ, Jane Loke a.k.a. Ja-Nea a.k.a. Lok Yok Jing a.k.a. Lok Cha Nea a.k.a. Tree Hugger~!

I’ve known her a little over 2 years, and only within the past year or so got to know her closer. The first time I noticed her, she was this shy innocent girl who joined the Campus City worship team when I was still one of the leaders in that ministry. She didn’t talk much, had to encourage her to talk more during those times actually, kinda regret doing that because now she just can’t keep quiet~! Haha~! Kidding, kidding…

I remember her dressing last time was so off~! She dressed like one of those nerdy reserved girls. Over the years of mixing around with the group, she started to be more feminine, in a good way of course. She learnt to carry herself more, although a lot had to be worked on in her area of confidence. We graduated from AYA leadership course together, we got to watch each other preach during our Preaching Test. It was very funny to see her preach because she would stutter at every sentence she spoke, I guess she was nervous at that time. It’s a totally different story now of course, she takes on the role of a worship leader now. When she encourages the team, you can see passion she has for the works of God...

She has always been very supportive of whatever I got involved in. She would be such an encouragement whenever I hit a dead end. Like when I was doing my final year project, I had to stay up every night for 3 weeks to finish up the final phase, she would one of the few who would check up on me and give me little words of encouragement and support that really helped me get through the night. I don’t know what she was doing, so crazy staying online till the wee hours of the night... Haha~!

She went through an oral surgery a few days back due to complications with her wisdom tooth, I believe it must be super painful in her recovery now. Do continue to keep her in prayer as she goes for a few more phases of surgery to totally get her teeth corrected in order. Pray that there will be no mishaps with the surgeon and that she will recover with no pain at all… It can happen~! Heard of many testimonies of painless extractions from many people I know. So we must believe with her people~!

To Jane… The many times you’ve shared your heart out to me and me sharing my difficulties with you means a lot to me because that was how we became closer. I know you’ve always looked to me as a leader, or a big brother, but believe it or not, I look at your life as an inspiration too. You have never placed yourself above anyone although you were appointed to be their leader, you were down-to-earth and every-willing to serve anyone who was in need. I’ve seen how much you’ve grown in your walk and maturity in God. From a super shy, innocent girl to a worship leader in a campus ministry, God is really preparing you for something beyond what our minds can comprehend...

Continue to pursue the plans and purposes that God has placed in you heart and never give up on your calling no matter what. He who has begun the good work in you will be faithful to complete it in you… All you have to do is just trust and obey. You’re a very strong girl inside, so don’t ever be intimidated by anyone just because you're skinny and gentle at heart. Stand firm on the principals of the Word and live under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and you will overcome many mountains of life.

Thank you so much for being my friend, thank you so much for allowing me to speak into your life, thank you so much for being such an encouragement, thank you so much for being such an inspiration.. I’m so grateful that you were so keen on becoming a sponsor of this project, but I’m even more grateful to you for being a sponsor of my life because you have contributed to shaping who I am today. Keep that passion going, never let it die because of any situations but fuel it with the Word and the Spirit.

May the Lord bless you and keep you, and make His face to shine upon you, may He grant you success and give you peace all the days of your life…

This is all I have for today people~! I will call my foreman again end of today to find out what other items I can order first while I’m waiting for the confirmation of my engine. Pray with my for favour and open door to get the items at the best price. Thank sponsors~! Have a great Thursday and God Bless…
