Hey sponsors, it’s a cloudy Tuesday morning, one of those mornings you feel like you could just sleep in. Haha~! Hope your Monday went well, I had a long eventful day yesterday. Looking forward to what today has for me.
I was having an awesome conversation with a good friend of mine yesterday about a question I encountered from another friend. This question really helped us bring certain things that we usually just take for granted into perspective again. The question goes like this, “How sure are you that you’re going to heaven?”…Of course as you know, we Christians know in hearts that we’ll be with the Lord when we die, but to look at the question in another way is “How CONVINCED are you that you’re going to heaven?”
I take that as a very good question. Why? Because it makes us check our hearts again on how convinced we are that Christ is the only way. The truth of the matter is heaven IS our goal because we long to be with the Lord, but we don’t live on earth just for the purpose of getting to heaven. If heaven is our only goal on earth, we would be would be taken up to heaven the very moment we accept Jesus into our hearts.
Why does God keep us on earth even though we’ve chosen to believe in Him? Simple… He wants us to fulfill the purposes He has for us on earth. You see, many people think that God is all out for His own glory, but the truth is that He intends to share His glory with us by allowing us to accomplish many things on earth through His strength. Even when we give all glory to Him every time we succeed in something, don’t we reap and enjoy the success as well? So at the end of the day, the fame does come to us more, but it is our choice to point it back to the Jesus…
The conclusion that me and my good friend came up was that we’re fully convinced that we’ll be in heaven with the Lord when we die simply because of the relationship we have with God. It is through our experiences with God that convinces us that He is so real, so if God is real, His Word must be real too… It is because of our relationship with Him that we’re able to believe every Word that comes forth from His mouth because the Truth of His Word has been tested in many situations time and time again and it has NEVER failed us. It’s the same as a relationship between 2 lovers, how convinced are you that your lover really loves you? It is only because of the relationship built between you and your lover, tested through time, which builds your trust in him/her. Therefore if your lover is one who never lied to you, you will never assume that he/she will ever lie to you because the truth of his/her words has proven itself…
This question is a great heart-checker, let the answer sink in your spirit...
What is happening with my engine? I contacted my foreman yesterday and he told me that the engine still has not come in to shore yet. Sounds like my engine is still somewhere on the big blue sea. I will call my foreman up again later in the evening to check on the status of where my engine is now. Today is also the closing date for the contribution collection. So to sponsors who is unable to pass me the money by tonight due to complications, thank you for your interest in contributing to this project, but I won’t be taking any more contributions after tonight… but don’t worry, you’ll still be a part of this project and I still want you to sign the car at the end of the day… smiles people~!
Anyone been to Singapore lately? If you’re driving there anytime soon, you’ll need to pass by this place called Johor Bahru, otherwise known as ‘crazy land’ during the December-February seasons. Why? Because that’s always the time Vicky Ong is back from Melbourne~! Vicky, better known to me as Vickster, the combination of Victoria and hamster, is whacky, crazy, noisy and nosy girl that packs one heck of a punch. She’s always so fun to be around with, and the relationship I share with her is really special.
You know what keeps us together? You’ll never guess, it’s our ability to argue and counter lame insults between each other. I really miss those times, before she left for Australia, where we would spend hours in during a meal just ‘attacking’ each other with lame insults and laughing it out at the end of the night. Sounds like a very verbally violent friendship right? Haha~! Be careful with this one people, you will never be able to out-talk her. Many times I have to wave my white flag in surrender because I just don’t have the ‘lame stamina’ as to my younger days… The only way I win her in any conversation is to out-wit her~!
Other than just throwing insults back and forth, there were times where she was such an encouragement to me. Times when I needed to laugh and chill a bit, she has never failed to entertain me whenever she could. She would try her best to keep the mood up to the extent that she would even make herself the topic of laughter. As far as I’ve known her, she always has a smile on her face no matter what happens around her. Her personality is very outgoing but her heart is undoubtedly filled with genuine care to the very detail…
She’s one strong girl, so guys please don’t simply mess around with her, you might just get burnt~!
To Vicky… thanks for entertaining me all this while when I was going through some difficult times. The lame jokes and insults we shared together really eased up a lot of tense situations that I was in. I believe many can testify to the truth that you really brought a lot of joy and laughter into their lives, mine included. What I’ve learnt from you is your ability to lighten up the atmosphere wherever you go. You would find every reason to brighten up the situation, thus adding life to a dead surrounding.
Continue growing in your love for God and keep up the joyful aura you have over many people’s lives. I know that God has great plans for you so pursue it with all that you have. It is sad that I could only meet up with you twice this time when you were in Subang Jaya, but I really enjoyed your company and I will definitely miss the lame bombardments we share with each other. I thing you must know, I will never compose a lame song with you, that’s my stand… Haha~!
I can never thank you enough for being a part of this project. Your support and encouragement will be cherished for a very VERY long time. I only approached a few who have impacted my life one way or another to be a part of this project, and I can say it with PRIDE that you have made an great impact in my life, contributing to build the person I am today. May the Lord continue to bless you and keep you all the days of your life...
